2-Hour Free Parking Coming to Downtown Raleigh
Finding a spot just got easier!
Finding parking in downtown Raleigh is about to get a little less stressful! Starting mid-November, the city will kick off a new pilot program offering 2 hours of free parking at five city-owned parking garages across downtown, including four on Wilmington Street. This initiative, approved by the city council, is designed to make quick trips and weeknight dinners downtown easier by removing the hassle (and cost) of parking.
Local business owners, like Rusty Sutton of The Green Monkey, are thrilled about the change, hoping it will attract more visitors. With free parking already available after 7 p.m. on weekdays and on weekends, this pilot program adds extra convenience for those short weekday visits.
The Downtown Raleigh Alliance is also playing a key role in spreading the word, so keep an eye out for more info on which garages are participating. The program runs through early next year—take advantage of it while it lasts!
